The Mom Project was born in 2013 – with the goal to encourage Moms to get in the picture with their kids. It has grown to include Moms telling their story of Motherhood, with hopes that we can see that us we are more alike than we think. We all want the best for our kids. We all worry about their futures, and we are all pretty sure we are messing it up. No comparisons needed, we are all on this journey together.
1. What do you love most about being a Mom?
I love the way my son looks at me. He looks at me for approval, for encouragement, for love. And the way he looks at me like I’m his world makes me feel like I’m the luckiest person alive!
2. What do you worry about most raising a child in today’s society?
Raising him “right” and what is that? How to teach him morals and values. How to love and be loved. Also who decides what’s the right thing?
3. What do you want your child to remember about their childhood and you as a Mom?
I want him to remember that we were best friends but that I also was hard on him because I wanted the best for him. I want him to remember that he was ALWAYS able to come to me and that I will ALWAYS be understanding and fair.
4. What advice would you give to new Moms?
Advice.. get yourself a “person”. Someone who you can call to cry to. Someone to show you how to make your baby poop after five days. Someone who understands that you need a break and helps you with that. Get yourself a person! I love my person( Heather Sell)! I owe her my world.
