The Mom Project was born in 2013 – with the goal to encourage Moms to get in the picture with their kids. It has grown to include Moms telling their story of Motherhood, with hopes that we can see that us we are more alike than we think. We all want the best for our kids. We all worry about their futures, and we are all pretty sure we are messing it up. No comparisons needed, we are all on this journey together.
1. What do you love the most about you being a Mom?
The thing I love the most about being a mom is that I get to watch 4 amazing kids grow up and become the people they are gonna be. I get to be a part of helping them be the best person they can be. I love that they are a purer more innocent version of myself. They motivate me to be a better person and I try every day to be a good mom. I am so proud of being a mom. In fact it’s probably the proudest thing I have ever done. I get to have a front row and watch my children learn and grow every day. I get to see them laugh and cry and I get to laugh and cry with them in all the different moments they face. Every day is a new adventure for my children and I love that I get to be a part of all of their adventures.
2. What do you worry about the most, raising kids in today’s society?
I am constantly worrying about my children in everything they do but something I really worry about is how technology can impact my children in ways that could really harm them. Technology can be a great thing but it also can cause so many problems for children. There are so many other ways that children can now get hurt or in trouble. It is obviously very important as a parent to teach my children the good and the bad things with technology. It’s important to keep an open relationship with my children to make sure they feel comfortable talking to me so I can help them!
3. What do you hope your children will remember about their childhood and you as a Mother?
I hope my children remember that I played with them and smiled a lot. I hope they know that they are my world and I would drop anything for each and every one of them. I want them to remember how much I love them and how much I love their Daddy!
4. What advice would you give to new Moms?
If I could give any advice it would be to make sure you stop and smell the roses. It goes by so fast and I really think it’s important to keep a tight grip on those special times and in the crazy hustle and bustle, stop and hold your babies. They really do grow up so fast.
