The Mom Project was born in 2013 – with the goal to encourage Moms to get in the picture with their kids. It has grown to include Moms telling their story of Motherhood, with hopes that we can see that us we are more alike than we think. We all want the best for our kids. We all worry about their futures, and we are all pretty sure we are messing it up. No comparisons needed, we are all on this journey together.
1) What do you love most about being a Mom?
I love being a mom, seeing their smiles and hearing their laughs. I love their hugs and watching them do what they love. I love seeing them be good people and helping others. Most of all I love seeing them laugh with each other and help each other. I love spending time, laughing and being around them.
2) What worries you most about raising kids in today’s society?
Seeing their pain as they go through things and not being able to take that away and sometimes they need to make poor choices to learn from so they can grow into a better person. But those life lessons can also create tension and conflict with your child as they deal with the consequences of their decision.
3) What do you hope your children remember about their childhood and you as a Mom?
That I love them unconditionally and supported them regardless.
4) What advice do you have for new Moms?
Parenting and motherhood are journeys. Just as your kids are growing and learning so are you. We all are going to make mistakes, parents and kids, be ok with that. Accept your oppurtunities, apologize when you need to, show your kids how to learn from failure and accept forgiveness. Try not to compare yourself to other moms. Every journey is different so embrace yours with all you have!!
